44-year-old suspect arrested, charged with aggravated arson occupied

West Monroe, LOUISIANA – West Monroe Police Department officers responded to the 1400 block of Cedar Street on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, in response to an investigation. 

The responding officers reportedly made contact with the victim, who said that they were sleeping when they were woken by the scent of natural gas.

According to the victim, the 44-year-old suspect Charles Boles, reportedly put lighter fluid on the floor of the apartment.

The suspect then left the apartment and returned with a lighter.

Boles then tried to light the lighter fluid, but the victim intervened and stopped him from starting a fire.

Officers were later informed that Boles had departed the site. In addition, numerous individuals were inside the house at the time of the occurrence.

When officials made touch with Boles, he was arrested. He was arrested and charged with aggravated arson occupied.
