Hospitalizations on the rise Monday as La. reports more than 1,000 new COVID cases

MONROE, La. – TUESDAY: The state reported another 359 cases, bringing the total to 453,711. There were 13 additional deaths, bringing the statewide toll to 10,306.

Hospitalizations rose to 344, and ventilator use rose to 41.

The positivity rate for Tuesday’s tests was about 2.19 percent.

MONDAY: The state reported another 1,413 cases since Friday, bringing the total to 453,351. The new cases included a backlog of 379 old tests, some dating back to May 2020, according to the state.

There were 11 additional deaths, bringing the statewide toll to 10,293.

Hospitalizations rose to 337, and ventilator use dropped to 39.

The positivity rate on the latest tests was about 3.31 percent.

FRIDAY: The state reported another 523 cases, bringing the total to 451,955. There were nine additional deaths, bringing the statewide toll to 10,282.

Hospitalizations fell to 317, and ventilator use dropped to 42.

The positivity rate for Friday’s tests was about 3.75 percent.

THURSDAY: The state reported another 791 cases, bringing the total to 451,476. There were 9 additional deaths, bringing the statewide toll to 10,273.

Hospitalizations rose to 338, and ventilator use fell to 45.

The positivity rate for Thursday’s test was about 3.9 percent.

WEDNESDAY: The state reported another 386 cases, bringing the total to 450,673. There were nine additional deaths, bringing the statewide toll to 10,264.

Hospitalizations fell to 325, and ventilator use remained at 49.

The positivity rate for Wednesday’s tests was about 3.49 percent.

TUESDAY: The state reported another 442 cases, bringing the total to 450,279. There were 14 additional death, bringing the statewide toll to 10,255.

Hospitalizations rose to 330, and ventilator use rose to 49.

The positivity rate for Tuesday’s tests was about 2.95 percent.
