BBB says scammers are impersonating car companies

MONROE, La. – The Better Business Bureau says scammers are impersonating car rental companies to get your money. Jo-Ann Deal with the BBB of Northeast Louisiana says if someone offers a great deal or asks you to prepay with debit cards or gift cards, just hang up.

Deal says they’ve had multiple reports of people impersonating companies in this area in the last few months.

She says it’s best to call the phone number on the business’s website and avoid calling numbers from an ad or sponsored website that comes up on the internet because those can be fake.

You can call the BBB for help at (318) 387-4600, and you can set up appointments with them in person.
