Beach Heads to Louisiana for Six Matches

LOUISIANA – The second-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (4-0) heads to Louisiana this weekend to play in six matches over three days.

Florida State heads to Tulane on Friday, March 5 to compete in the Bayou Beach Duals. The Seminoles play Louisiana Monroe (11:30 am) and Tulane (3:30 pm) on Friday.

The Seminoles then head to LSU for the LSU Tiger Beach Challenge (March 6-7). Florida State will play Houston Baptist, No. 1 LSU, No. 19 Georgia State and No. 11 FAU over the two days of the Challenge.

Florida State enters the weekend, a combined 52-2 against the six teams they will face.

FSU begins the Bayou Beach Duals against Louisiana Monroe and is a perfect 5-0 all-time against the Warhawks. The Garnet and Gold have only surrendered one court to ULM in their five meetings. Florida State caps off Friday at the Beach Duals against Tulane. FSU is 12-0 against the Green Wave and has never lost a court to them.

The Seminoles begin the LSU Tiger Beach Challenge against Houston Baptist at 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 6. FSU is 5-0 against the Huskies.

FSU caps off day one of the Beach Challenge under the lights in a match between No. 1 and No. 2. The Seminoles take on No. 1 LSU at 8:00 pm. Florida State is 10-1 all-time against the Tigers of LSU. Florida State won the first eight matches before losing their first meeting of 2019. FSU would go on to win the next two that season, including a 3-0 win in the CCSA Conference Championship.

Day two of the LSU Tiger Beach Challenge begins with a dual against Georgia State at 9:00 am. Florida State is 10-1 against GSU and has won eight straight since their last loss to the Panthers back in 2015. FSU finishes the weekend against FAU at 4:30 pm. The Seminoles are 11-0 against the Owls and have only lost four courts in their 11 meetings.
