Cowgirl Softball Run-Rules Louisiana Tech in Monroe

MONROE, La. – Oklahoma State softball improved to 2-0 on the season after run-ruling Louisiana Tech 8-0 in five innings.

Left hander Kelly Maxwell (2-0) shined in her first start of the year, recording a complete game shutout of the Lady Techsters. Maxwell allowed just one hit and struck out 10 batters on the day.

So far in 2021, opponents are 1-for-20 (.050 batting average) against Maxwell.

Offensively, OSU once again showed power at the plate, recording four homers on the day (Jordan DoggettAlysen FebreySydney Pennington and Karli Petty).

Petty led the way for the Cowgirls by going 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI. Febrey and Chyenne Factor also contributed two hits for OSU.

The Cowgirls return to action at 11 a.m. tomorrow against Jacksonville State and then again at 3:30 p.m. against Louisiana Tech.
