Eagles fare well at Class 2A state meet

MONROE, La. – A quartet of Rosepine Eagles made their mark on the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s state powerlifting championships on Thursday at Fant Ewing Coliseum on the campus of the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

Tristen Nolen, Cross Thomason, Jesse Parker and Blaine Savoie each placed in respective classes as their neighbors to the north, the Many Tigers, claimed the Class 2A state title.

Nolen was fourth in the 148-pound class as he lifted a total of 890 pounds, while Thomason was fifth in the 275-pound division with 1,085 pounds.

Parker was seventh in the super heavyweight division with 995 pounds, while Savoie was seventh in the 275 class with 965 pounds.
