Local resident arrested for theft, resisting an officer

Monroe, LA – According to the police officials, his name is Ladariel Marquiz Swinson and he was arrested on Aug. 24.

Monroe Police Department officers responded to a report of a complaint of a theft at a grocery store on DeSiard Street.

The 911 caller said that the suspect select six steaks and a case of beer before walking out of the store without paying for any of the items.

The responding officers made contact with the suspect, but he kept walking away. He refused to give his name or date of birth.

The suspect is also charged with misdemeanor sexual battery after witnesses at a house reported seeing him inappropriately grab a 12-year-old child.

He was booked at Ouachita Correctional Center on the above charges as well as on one count of disturbing the peace and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.
