Monroe, LA – A local group from Monroe, LA is honoring the people who died while serving in the military.

This year the goal is to place 10,000 American flags in yards in Ouachita and Lincoln parishes.

The officials say that they started small about seven years ago.

Each year, the number of people who want flags increases. They feel it’s the least they could do for those who’ve given the ultimate sacrifice.

Last year they put out a little more than 7,000 flags. The COVID-19 pandemic inspired them to spread even more positivity.

You can find the flags in Monroe, West Monroe, Sterlington, Calhoun, and Ruston.
