Louisiana coronavirus: 2,103 more confirmed coronavirus cases reported; see latest data

LOUISIANA – The Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,103 more confirmed coronavirus cases in its noon update Friday.

The agency did not release an updated death number Friday due to “a data system issue.”

The number of hospitalizations increased by 26, and the number of patients in need of ventilators decreased by three.

There are also 42,288 total “probable” coronavirus cases in Louisiana, according to the agency’s dashboard.

These are another few key statewide statistics as of Friday:

  • Total confirmed cases: 322,565
  • Total “probable” cases: 42,288
  • Total confirmed deaths: 7,631 as of Thursday
  • Currently hospitalized: 2,001
  • Currently on ventilators: 242
  • Vaccine series initiated: 170,389 (updated twice weekly)
  • Vaccine series completed: 30,988
  • Presumed recovered: 298,614 as of Jan. 11 (updated weekly)

  • Jefferson: 322
  • Caddo: 177
  • Orleans: 174
  • St. Tammany: 171
  • East Baton Rouge: 153
  • Lafayette: 101
