MONROE, La. – In Louisiana, 87,307 more doses of COVID vaccines have been administered, according to a noon update from the Louisiana Department of Health.
There are 1,097,425 people who are fully vaccinated and 1,435,611 people who have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
The total number of administered doses is now 2,443,129. Most of those shots are part of the two-dose regimen recommended for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which is why the total number of people who have received at least one dose is lower than the total number of doses.
Out of Louisiana’s entire estimated population, 30.88% of people have received at least one dose and 23.61% of people are fully vaccinated.
The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,241 more confirmed coronavirus cases and 3 more confirmed deaths in its noon update Monday.
Some of those confirmed cases are attributed to backlog cases, the Department of Health reported.
“On 4/19/21 LDH is reporting a backlog of 379 out of 1,413 cases as far back as May 2020,” the agency wrote.
These are another few key statewide statistics as of Monday:
- Total confirmed cases: 385,854
- Total “probable” cases: 67,497
- Total confirmed deaths: 9,401
- Hospitalized: 337
