Louisiana may drop out of the federal unemployment program and Gov. Edwards is considering the move

Monroe, LA – According to the officials, the federal government is adding $300 a week to the state’s unemployment of $247 a week.

People think that the extra $300 a week is responsible for the worker shortage.

They think it pays people more to stay home than what they’d earn working.

More than half of U.S. states now intend to withdraw early from the federal government program that gives unemployed workers an extra $300 a week, after Louisiana Gov. Edwards became the first Democratic governor to announce he’s planning on pulling the benefits, joining 25 Republican governors in doing so.
