According to the police officials, the 45-year-old man was convicted on Thursday. Authorities say he will spend the rest of his life in prison for murder without any chance at parole. A jury convicted the man of two charges — first-degree murder and dismemberment and mutilation — on June 10.
His name is Kenny Wayne McBride and he was also ordered to serve 114 to 480 months for mutilating his grandmother’s body. His 79-year-old grandma was the victim – Cecelia Gibson.
Authorities say McBride didn’t shoot or stab his grandmother. They say he killed his grandmother by beating her to death using a metal child gate and a ceramic piggy bank. The victim massive head trauma after being struck 19 times. Then, he used three different knives to cut off her head. Authorities say he then carried the head through the house.
According to the police officials, McBride had argued with the victim regarding his children — most of whom he did not see. Police say the victim lived with her daughter, who was married to the defendant’s father.
