MONROE, LA — A theft was reported on Jan.24 and when the officers arrived to the scene, they found the victim who said they were beaten and robbed $2,000.

The victim’s statement was confirmed as he was taken to a hospital, where they discovered he had broken jaw and separated shoulder.

A video footage was obtained where the crime could be confirmed.

The suspect turned himself in on Feb. 1, after a picture of him was shared publicly. Monroe Police Dept. identified him as Kevin L. Woodard, 38.

He admitted that he was involved in the burglary, but he denied taking money from the victim.

Woodward was arrested and charged with a second degree robbery, and was booked to the Ouachita Correctional Center.
