MONROE, La. – Alexandria State Rep. Lance Harris is running for Louisiana’s Fifth Congressional District seat.

Harris said his experience as a business owner and nine years in the state legislature has given him the maturity needed for the position. He said he’s been the head of the Republican delegation for eight years as well.

Harris wants to bring what he calls “common sense” ideas to D.C. For him, that includes protecting the second amendment and continuing to be pro-life. It also means smaller government.

“Which means, less taxes, less government intrusion gives you as a citizen more freedom. That’s common sense. Those kind of ideas, I will being to Washington D.C.”

Also running for the position:

  • Matt Hasty
  • Martin Lemelle
