MONROE, LA— On Wednesday early morning, the Monroe Police responded to the 3300 block of White Street in reference to a person hit by a train. A 13-year-old boy was transferred to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Reportedly, the kid was walking with his headphones in on the railroad tracks when a train was passing. As the kid didn’t hear the horns of the train, he was hit by the train, which threw him on the side of the tracks.

The 13-year-old was cited for trespassing on train tracks, which are privately owned by the railroad companies.
