Vehicle burglary attempt followed by a shooting after local basketball game

MONROE, LA— The Monroe Police responded to a vehicle burglary after a high school basketball game at Carroll High School.

Reportedly, two people were walking in the parking lot after the basketball game, when they noticed three people trying to steal their vehicle.

One of them tried to stop them when one of the burglars got into a struggle with him. Then one of the suspects opened fire towards the victims, but luckily no one was injured.

The criminals then ran away.
