MONROE, La. – Authorities have arrested a Monroe man accused of rape.
According to the Monroe Police Department, they were called to the 800 block of South 19th Street in Monroe in regard to a rape complaint.
Investigators say the victim told them that while she was asleep in her room, she was awakened by 47-year-old Micheal Duchon Battle, who she says was having non-consensual intercourse with her. The victim said she pushed Battle off of her and ran into another room in the home where her brother was.
MPD says the victim told them that Battle lived with them and had asked her for intercourse numerous times in the past. He was arrested on one count of 3rd-degree rape.
