MONROE, La. — The City of Monroe opted to close all city facilities at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 17, ahead of the potential severe weather.
All non-essential employees were allowed to leave work at 1 PM while essential workers were required to continue working as scheduled.
All Monroe Police Department and Monroe Fire Department employees still must report to work as scheduled unless told otherwise by their department heads.
