Louisiana Protests: No threats to life or property

LOUISIANA – In what appears to be a green light for protestors wanting to demonstrate at the state capitol, law enforcement agencies in the state and the FBI say they’ve found no signs of a specific threat to life or property from the groups wanting to march.

“Agencies will continually monitor for potential security concerns and provide timely notification should this change. All agencies remain steadfast in our mission to protect our citizens and respect those who choose to exercise their First Amendment rights, including the right to peacefully protest,” a press release stated. “Criminal activity, the destruction of property, and the intentional incitement of violence prevents others from peacefully expressing their First Amendment rights and will not be tolerated.”

Meantime, agencies and their officials will be working together to ensure there are no incidents and to coordinate security, safety, and peaceful gathering as the planned protest marches come to the area.
