MONROE, La. – Authorities have arrested a man accused of attempted second-degree murder in Monroe.

According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, they responded to a call in the 500 block of Finks Hideaway in reference to a shooting. Deputies say when they arrived, they met with two victims who told them that 23-year-old Taireek Anderson of Monroe and another suspect came to the victim’s home armed with firearms.

The arrest records say the suspects lured one of the victims from her home and began hitting her. Records say that when the victim’s boyfriend tried to step in, one of the suspects began shooting at him.

Records say during the incident, Anderson was wearing a bandanna to cover his face, but the bandanna was eventually lowered and the female victim recognized Anderson.

OPSO says after the shooting, the accused fled the scene.
