MONROE, La. – Northeast Louisiana’s total COVID-19 case count has surpassed 1,000.
The Louisiana Dept. of Health dashboard shows over 1,050 reported cases in Northeast Louisiana. That includes at least 36 reported deaths, according to LDH. According to some local officials, the numbers are higher in some parishes as the LDH dashboard is running behind their own documented case counts.
The most populated parish in Northeast Louisiana, Ouachita Parish, has the highest number of cases. Ouachita Parish accounts for about half the cases and deaths in this part of the state. Franklin Parish topped 100 cases on April 23 and Union Parish is not far behind.
Overall, Northeast Louisiana makes up a relatively small portion of the state’s total case count, which sits at just over 25,000.

- Franklin: 108 (2 deaths)
- Union: 89 (6 deaths)
- Lincoln: 62 (3 deaths)
- Morehouse: 41 (3 deaths)
- Richland: 45

- Catahoula: 24 (2 death)
- Winn: 19* (2 deaths)
- Caldwell: 17
- Jackson: 21*
- La Salle: 15
- West Carroll: 4
- Madison: 5
- East Carroll: 5
