Overnight fire destroys local West Monroe business

MONROE, La. – Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a local West Monroe business and sent one person to the hospital.

The fire started inside a building near 99 McClendon Avenue around 1:45 am. Wednesday, March 31.

We’re told that one person had to be airlifted to a hospital in Shreveport but others who were there made it out and were not seriously injured.

The fire spread to a nearby business, 2 Warriors Meadery. The building went up in flames and the owners say that their business was destroyed. The business had only been open a little more than a year.
