MONROE, La. – State Representative Michael Echols is considering a run for the 5th Congressional District seat.
Echols says he will only run if Julia Letlow, the wife of the late U.S. Congressman-elect Luke Letlow, and Ralph Abraham decide not to run.
Letlow passed away almost a week ago after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
The seat will remain vacant until a special election is held in March. Qualifying for the election begins on January 20, 2021.
