State reports 3,738 new cases and 48 new deaths on Sunday

MONROE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Health reported 3,738 new cases and 48 new deaths on Sunday, December 20, bringing the total number of cases to 286,145 and the total number of deaths to 7,042 for the state.

In Northeast Louisiana, 299 new cases and 8 new deaths were reported. Ouachita Parish is still reporting the most cases and deaths in our area with 11,915 total confirmed cases and 228 total confirmed deaths.

Here is a list of local parishes reporting confirmed cases and deaths:

  • Ouachita Parish – 11,915 cases, 228 deaths (168 new cases, 5 new deaths)
  • Lincoln Parish – 2,582 cases, 66 deaths (25 new cases, 2 new deaths)
  • Franklin Parish – 1,884 cases, 73 deaths (16 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Morehouse Parish – 1,730 cases, 40 deaths (26 new cases)
  • Union Parish – 1,488 cases, 60 deaths (10 new cases, 2 new deaths)
  • Richland Parish – 1,408 cases, 31 deaths (14 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Jackson Parish – 1,187 cases, 36 deaths (11 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Madison Parish – 1,181 cases, 15 deaths (4 new cases)
  • Concordia Parish – 1,159 cases, 26 deaths (4 new cases)
  • Winn Parish – 965 cases, 27 deaths (3 new cases)
  • East Carroll Parish – 798 cases, 14 deaths (1 new case)
  • West Carroll Parish – 783 cases, 25 deaths (10 new cases)
  • La Salle Parish – 767 cases, 17 deaths (10 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Caldwell Parish – 675 cases, 16 deaths (11 new cases)
  • Catahoula Parish – 659 cases, 18 deaths (18 new cases, 1 new death)
  • Tensas Parish – 249 cases, 3 deaths (1 new case)
