MONROE, La. – The Twin City Firefighters Association is kicking off its annual toy drive.

The holidays are quickly approaching and so is the call to help those in need. The association says the toy drive is crucial this year. They say it’s been a hard year with storms, coronavirus, and unemployment, so, they are asking people to donate toys for children in need.

Vice President of the Twin City Firefighter Association, O.C. Jones says they just want to end 2020 on a great note.

“We just felt that it was our duty to make this happen this year. And we want to end 2020 on a great note. We want everyone that is possible and able to donate toys, as many toys as they can to us. This is a very important part of our organization that we give back to the community.”

To get donated toys, you must complete an application online at www.twincityfirefighters.com. Only 100 applications will be accepted. The age group for the toy drive is infants to 12-years-olds.

The drop off location for donations is at The City of Monroe Public Safety Center located at 1810 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Monroe, La 71202. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
