MONROE, La. – Authorities have arrested a woman accused of abusing her juvenile daughter.

According to the Monroe Police Department, on Aug. 31, they arrived at the 2700 block of Louisville Avenue after getting reports of a stranded juvenile.

The juvenile was identified as the daughter of 35-year-old Leslie Fuselier.

Police say the juvenile told them her mother had beat her, showing police red markings on her neck and facial area. They say she also stated her mother wrapped a seatbelt around her neck to a point where she could not breathe.

Arrest records say Fuselier pulled her daughter from the vehicle by her hair and proceeded to strike her in the face until she bled.

Police say the juvenile stated when she attempted to leave the scene Fuselier engaged her using her vehicle causing her to fall. The juvenile showed police lacerations on her body from falling on the pavement.

They say Fuselier left the scene and was unable to be contacted.

MPD says later that day, they made contact with Fuselier at her residence where she was placed under arrest.
